The 36-year-old Vampire diaries star had been head over heels in love with the 26-year-old Twilight beauty long before they took their relationship to the next level. Ian Somerhalder shatters all hopes by preparing to tie a knot with Nikki Reed. In only six months of dating, the Vampire Diaries hunk got engaged to the Twilight star Nikki Reed; multi sources confirm the exciting news. Talk about vampire magnetism! So this celebrity engagement was hardly surprise to those close to the happy duo. “They’re so happy”, an insider was quoted saying. “They were crazy happy from the start. Their families love each other. It just feels really right.” When it’s right, it’s right, right? Somerhalder seems to be a true family man; the couple has already started a big furry family adopting several other animals together. Another big step that indicated how committed the couple were toward their relationship was when they started a production company together. "Nikki and I are starting a production company and we're going to be able to tell even more stories that we really want to tell, everything from documentaries to TV shows to movies...all kinds of stuff," Somerhalder was quoted saying. "Having the success of a television show like [Vampire Diaries] really allows you to be able...now I get to start spreading my creative wings as well." At the InStyle and Warner Bros. after party celebrating the Golden Globes, Ian Somerhalder was seen getting affectionate with his bride-to-be, wrapping an arm around her.
