Diamond Certification

A diamond certificate is an official document issued by an independent gemological laboratory that verifies a diamond’s quality based on the 4Cs, cut, color, clarity, and carat weight. It includes detailed grading information, measurements, and often a clarity plot, so you know exactly what you’re buying and paying for. This certification adds transparency, builds trust, and gives you confidence when investing in a diamond, whether it’s for an engagement ring, wedding band, or fine jewelry piece

What is a Diamond Certificate?

What is a Diamond Certificate?

Diamond certifications, also called diamond grading reports, are essential documents that verify a diamond’s quality and authenticity. Think of them as the “report card” for your diamond. They detail key characteristics such as the 4Cs (Cut, Color, Clarity, and Carat) along with other identifying features, which are assessed by expert gemologists using advanced tools and techniques.

At Fascinating Diamonds, every natural and lab-grown loose diamond comes with a reliable and accurate certification. Natural loose diamonds come with a GIA certificate, while lab-grown diamonds have an IGI certificate for the center stone.

GIA Diamond Certification for Natural Diamonds

GIA Diamond Certification for Natural Diamonds

Who is GIA?

The Gemological Institute of America (GIA) is the world’s most respected diamond grading authority. Founded in 1931, GIA created the 4Cs grading system and remains the gold standard for unbiased, precise evaluations. A GIA report confirms the authenticity and quality of your diamond, giving you confidence for insurance, resale, or long-term value

What does GIA Certification covers?

  • Full 4Cs grading: Cut, Clarity, Carat, Color
  • Detailed proportions and characteristics
  • Optional Laser Inscription for identification or personalization
  • Five types of detailed grading reports are available

When will you receive the GIA certificate?

You will receive it with your product. It includes security features like a unique report number and an inscription that is on the girdle of the diamond. At Fascinating Diamonds, every loose natural diamond comes with a GIA certificate.

Please Note :- Accent stones are not included in this, and the certification applies only to the center stone.

IGI Diamond Certification for Lab-Grown Diamonds

IGI Diamond Certification for Lab-Grown Diamonds

Who is IGI?

The International Gemological Institute (IGI), founded in 1975, is one of the most trusted grading labs worldwide. IGI was among the first to establish strict grading guidelines for these diamonds, jewelry, gemstones, etc, ensuring they’re held to the same quality standards as natural stones.

What does IGI cover?

  • Full 4Cs grading: Cut, Clarity, Carat, Color
  • Proportions, polish, and symmetry details
  • Report verification online via IGI’s web-site

When will you receive the IGI Certification?

Every lab-grown diamond sold by Fascinating Diamonds includes an IGI certificate so that you can purchase with confidence.

Please Note :-

  • That small accent stones are not included in the certification; only the center stone is certified.
  • IGI certification is available at an additional cost of $100 up to 5 carats and $150 above 5 carats. The certification process takes about 10 days.
Certification for Fine Jewelry

Certification for Fine Jewelry

You can add an IGI certificate to your fine jewelry purchase at Fascinating Diamonds, whether it’s diamond earrings, a diamond pendant/necklace, or a diamond bracelet, at an extra cost of $150.

Once your jewelry manufacturing is completed, it is sent to IGI’s facility for certification. The jewelry-making process takes about 6–7 business days, followed by another 7-10 business days for certification. You can expect to receive both the jewelry and the IGI report within about 15 business days.

Please Note :- Diamonds under 0.50 carat do not come with an individual grading certificate.

Diamond Appraisals for Insurance

Diamond Appraisals for Insurance

If you need official documentation for insurance or personal records, you can have your jewelry or loose diamond appraised through the Gemological Appraisal Laboratory (GAL). GAL is an independent gemological laboratory known for providing detailed and accurate evaluation reports.

A professional appraisal from GAL includes a thorough assessment of your diamond or jewelry piece. The report outlines important details such as gemstone identification, origin, quality characteristics, measurements, grading information, and an estimated replacement value. This replacement value is especially important when securing insurance coverage, as it helps ensure your piece is properly protected in case of loss, theft, or damage.

An official appraisal is also useful for resale purposes, estate planning, or simply maintaining complete documentation of your fine jewelry collection. The cost for a GAL appraisal is $144 per certificate.
